What is the best place to launch my tube and kayaks? I will be fishing the tube while parents yak. I am also interested in what baits are key now. Any tips accepted.
Thanks,
Joel

A good option is to drive down the dirt road to salsipuedes bay and when you come around the point there proceed almost to the end where there are some picnic tables right across from jackass canyon. Launch there and fish jackass. This area is known for producing better fish on the rocky banks there.
This time of year can be VERY tough at Margarita however so I wouldn't expect any wide open bite. Look for fish very early and very late on super spooks or rio ricos. During the day fish something deep on the outer outer weedlines in 15 to 20 feet of water. This is where they hold during the summertime. Good luck, post a repot good or bad when you get back, I would love to hear about the bite there this year.
Oh yeah PS don't overlook a mid day frog bite. Worth a shot if all else fails.

I launch my tube from the spot that Rob is telling you about. The picnic grounds are called Vaca Flats. Check out www.slocountyparks.com for a map. I fish the bays over to the right of there without crossing the lake to Jackass Bay. I'm going Saturday AM and I'll post how I do. I'll soot you an e-mail, too.
Rob...do you think that the Senko's would do good the the weeds at Margarita??

but I made it to the lake this morning(early) but I forgot my swim fins!!! :( The water is down about 10 feet at Margarita. Lots of good weed growth around the shore still. Let me know how you do...don't forget your fins!!!
