#13824, "7/9 DVL"

Short Story:
2 LMB in 30 feet on a 4" salt and pepper lizard
water: 75.3

Long Story:
Took The new boat to DVL for its inspection and a little fishing. Turned out to be a long day. First I called the lake and the gal said they start boat inpection at 8:00 am so much for a early start, I get to the lake at 7:30 am and he inspects the boat right away, I ask him about the time and he says they inspect from 6:00 til 2:00 DOH! Head to the ramp and rig the boat for a self launch and dump it in the water. Fire the boat up for the first time and it starts right up. I idle out of the marina trim down and look around and hit the throttle and..... blah .... nothing only 1900 rpm and it won't get on plane, I shut down and try it again and nothing. I have no alarms so I idle over to the nearest point and start fishing until my mechanic friend gets to work. Got 2 fish off this point in 30' on a salt and pepper lizard (turns out I did quite well in comparison to the rest of the field)

I idle towards the dam for cell phone coverage and call the shop. My buddy asks me all the usual questions, and finally asks if I can bring it in today if so he will look at it right away. So back on the trailer it goes and off to Anahiem I go. I get there we pull the cover and First he fixes the tach then puts the computer on the boat.... shows no faults. So we un hook it and put it on the Dyno and to runs perfectly DOH! So we scratch our heads and away I go again. At this point I was just going to go hame but as I pass the off ramp I decide to head back out to the lake and give it a try. After idleing out of the marina I hit it and it is a little slugish but I am getting some RPM then the nose starts to drop and I take off like a bat out of hell. Called my buddy back and reported the news and It looks like I need to pull a couple exhaust plugs on the prop to allow for a better hole shot. All in all I am very pleased with the boat and had a great day.
