On one hand it looks pretty Barney-ish. On the other hand, I remember when I went to BPS in Springfeild MO., they had "Doug Hannon Bass Umbrellas" in a few of there tanks and the Bass were using them. The Umbrellas looked like plastic Banana tree leaves bolted to an 8' 4x4 with a weight at one end and a plastic float at the other. They were set in a tank with not enough structure to give each bass a place to hang out even with them in place. It impressed me at the time that the biggest bass in the tank was on one by herself and there were 3 over 5# on another. Others had 1 or 2 bass on each and the biggest bass were on the ones closest to where they are fed from. It was obvious that these had been left in there for some time and that the bass had accepted them as a normal peice of structure.

If you take the same idea, ie the laughable SOS system and drop it in a largely coverless lake in the right place, I'm sure it would attract fish after a while. It might take a few days for all of the fish in an area to accept it as a part of their environment, but I bet some fish would come to investigate within an hour and others would take up residence in a day or 2.
Tight lines,
Wade

If I ever buy fake leaves on a string, just hit me up side the head. Of course fish like structure and cover, this is like saying fish like to eat. The idea that you could hang stuff under your boat and cause fish to come over is comical for largemouth bass. A crappie, bluegill, or some kind of east coast perch ... yeah maybe I guess if you sat there long enough. Ice fishing, yeah sure why not .. the fishes brains are half frozen anyway.

I'll sell anyone here a piece of string with a lead weight and some tree branches tied to it for the low low price of $10 (you pay the shipping of course). That'll save you 4 bucks in case you were considering buying the fake plant on a string.

My point exactly. Will it work under the right conditions-sure.
Is it laughably designed and way over priced-SURE.
Was the Doug Hannon Bass Umbrella better designed- a little. Was it an over-priced gimmick-SURE.
Would a bag of cement, 10' of 1/4" cable and a truck load of tree branches do 20 times as good for about the same price-Definitely.
Tight lines,
Wade

You should see half the things they try selling on ebay. Amazing! Invent a stupid idea, put a $10 prize tag on it. You have hundreds of idiots buying it cause they didn't think of it first.

I once ran across a few guys who fished in waders alot ,they had constructed a pcv pipe/cap openeing so they didnt have to drop the waders to pee.looked silly on land but the idea was a good one as all of us know who wear waders.
