seasonaljunkie, actually what you have is a composite rod, it is a graphite blank, w/fiberglass, which is what most rod company's do. Graphite is much lighter and more sensitive than glass, but more fragile. w/ scrim these days, rod manufactuers can get all the charachteristic's of a glass rod, in a graphite blank, check out the Loomis CBR series if you want the best there is for the $$$, I have a 845, and it is by far my favorite rod, and you cannot beat the 847 for deep stuff, just my 2 cents.
