well if its 5", i use a 3/0 extra wide gap gamakatsu hook. rig it teposed, meaning texas rigged with no weight, but instead of putting the tip in and stopping, put the tip all the way thru(hard to explain......). i fish them simply.....i cast out, count to 20, and my rod is at 10 oclock now with semi slack line...if no takers, raise from 10 to 12, and let fall back down and repeat....this is how BIG bass are caught, SLOWLY but SURELY!!
