I just bought some senkos and i was wondering how to rig them. Through the tip, Weedless?

well if its 5", i use a 3/0 extra wide gap gamakatsu hook. rig it teposed, meaning texas rigged with no weight, but instead of putting the tip in and stopping, put the tip all the way thru(hard to explain......). i fish them simply.....i cast out, count to 20, and my rod is at 10 oclock now with semi slack line...if no takers, raise from 10 to 12, and let fall back down and repeat....this is how BIG bass are caught, SLOWLY but SURELY!!

i texas rig mine on a 1/0 ewg gammie. small tiwtches to make the senko dart up and slowly settle works for me. largest i got this way was a 10lb out of puddingstone last year. i haven't had much luck fishing it weightless but then again i haven't put much time into fishing it that way.

Where in puddingstone? What color? I have only had luck ripping lipless crankbaits on the drop off outside of sailboat cove.

Best from shore for me is the north shore and east shore from the last pier going north to the point after all of the white rock. I hope that made sense. As for the color my favorite is #157 which is smoke with black and purple flake, emerald with green flake, straight black, and black with green flake, red, blue or silver flake.

Texaskinned, or texposed

C-rigged if fishing deeper water or heavy current/wind, otherwise no weight. If going weightless, I'll thread the bait onto the hook a 1/2" - 1" before pushing it out the bottom. This helps to keep the hook in the center of the bait, thus maintaining the baits superb action.

Don't forget Senkos and their cousins the Kinnamis work great for saltwater bass too. Rig 'em the same, fish 'em the same; they're all bass.

I started fishing Senko's this season and imo they are great. I've had much luck with these lures. It's such a simple concept but yet so effective I don't why no one thought of it sooner. I flyline it and fish it like a jerk bait with many bites on the fall or suspend, I Carolina rig with a split shot and fish it slow to moderate depending on bite, and I've even danced it on the surface like a top water. All three methods have worked for me. It's a very versital bait which can be presented several ways. Oh yeah I drop shot it too. Works great. It also works in saltwater. I've caught calico's (fly line), Sand bass and halibut (dropshot) on it.

Sup man, hey the best way to get a bite on those things at prado is called the wacky rig. First forget texas rigging, you might lose a few more hooks and worms but youll get more fish. Take a 1 to 2-0 wide gap offset circle hook, the blood red work the best. NO WEIGHT. when these things get soaked with water they can weigh up to a 1-2 oz. Hook the bait dead center, sideways, leave the point exposed.

And since i am the unoficial king of weightless jerkbaits, trust me no action works the best, just feed line off your reel so it has a slack fall.
Watch for the "tick" because 80% of the strikes are on the fall. Th wacky rig creates its own action so dont jig your rod. Its not a great search bait but when you find a hole, youll get your buddies record. I went to prado last weekend and caught a 5lbs-10oz on a senko, off the fallen tree across from the snack bar.

I like the 4/0 Lunker City Texposer Hook for the 5 inch Senko. It works great for all soft jerkbaits (Flukes, Slug-Gos, etc.). Its the best hook for the "Texposed" rig.

I haven't found them around the Bay Area, but have order them online.

i rigg them weightless on a2/0 circle hook and sometimes you don't feel the bite. and with these hooks all you have to do is wind in you line don't even have to have a hard hookset because of the wat the hook is made.
