#9109, "RE: Peck Rd. or Santa Fe" In response to In response to 4
Unfortunately Santa Fe does charge for parking. They don't charge on weekdays in winter but they have already moved to their spring schedule and it will cost you $6 to get in to either Santa Fe or Pudd. You can park at the dam control office and walk over the dam to avoid the charge. It's about a 10 minute walk to the lake from there but it's a strenious walk up and over the dam.
If you go fisn Santa Fe I recommend you either start at the dam or the last parking lot at the end of the lake and work your way down the back side of the lake. That would be the side with the rocky natural looking shoreline. If you choose to fish the other side of the lake try in the vicinity of the launch ramp. From there work your way down to the boat rental docks and continue to work your way towards the swim beach until you reach the beach. You have a decent chance at getting bit from the ramp to the swim beach. Make casts parallel to the shore working the bottom in the area very slowly. Focus your efforts on the area where the concrete slab meets the bottom of the lake. Bass will sometimes sit at the foot of the slab but the rocky shoreline is a better bet if you don't mind the walk. I wouldn't expect much in the way of size out of this lake but that's not to say it's not possible.
