I have two different styles of Black Diamond (Tm) LED lights that work great. One uses AAA and the other used AA batteries. I highly recommend them. Each was around $25. Each has 4 LED bulbs. The AAA is lighter and has 3-level + strobe lighting. The AA is on/off but with the bigger batteries the effective lighting (can see in the bottom of backpack) is longer. As the batteries wear down the light is dimmer but doesn't just cut out on you. Makes night jetty fishing do-able when you can see for rock-hopping. The LEDs don't take away night vision as bad as some other kinds. I fish sand bass at night too and the extra lighting is great. I plan to do some lobster hooping from a kayak and the headlight should really help with that.
