IFISH say's,

I hope I'm not out of bounds for saying this, but I just heard some really shi**y news ! Our good buddy Scott Rouhier had his truck with all his rods, reels, and tackle stolen this weekend out of the Beacon Harbor parking lot. This absolutely infuriates me that something could happen like this, especially to such a good guy. I really hope they catch the a-hole who did this and put him away for a LONG time !!!

Even though this happened to you Scotty, I'd like to help you out homie. I wanna donate a baitcaster rod & reel to you man in lew of your unfortunate losses. I have 3-4 rods I'll let you choose from, and either 2-3 reels, one of which is a curado that just needs a little work. The other is a Daiwa Triforce 153B. It may not be the super top-of-the line stuff, but I figure anything will help. I even have a spidercast reel I'll give you If you can fix it. I just feel really compelled to help man, cause I know It's not gonna be easy to replace all of the gear you accumulated over the years. Keep your head up brother and hopefully I was able to help you, and maybe even bring a smile to ya during an otherwise shi**y weekend.

IFISH

Boy, did he keep his head up and more. After being a bit down this morning (duh), he borrowed a few rods and some bait and terminal tackle, jumped in his boat and proceeded to catch big bag of the day and win the TOC. Anyone else would have gone home with his tail between his legs. My hat's off to YOU, Scotty!

I hope I got this right. I'm pretty sure he won. If not he deserved to.

Man...... x( Thanks to everyone for all the offers and kind words. Well here is my weekend report. After driving for almost 4 hours I finnaly got to Beacon set up the boat and got ready. Saturday morning I planned to row to Little Franks and I was almost there when my left oar snapped in half x( with the current it was all I could do to kick and make a little head way back toward Beacon quickly I had blisters on my feet from the constant kicking. I did make it back but only with 3 fish for like 6 lbs. I was just out to go have some fun at this point so off me Steve and T went to the Port Hole for dinner. I ended up coming back with them after dinner then decided I wanted to go have a few more drinks (this ended up being a bad idea) I had a blast while there I watched the costume contest and met some very interesting people. At 2 a.m. it was time to head back and go to sleep...NOT!! I walked pretty much in a straght line back to where my truck was only to not find it!! I walked over to the campground then up the street a little then back and found no truck so I quickly sprinted down to the aqua lodge and asked the Shasta crew if they had moved my truck? No was the answer so 911 was called it took 2 hours for them to show up and it was 4:30 whne they arrived and questioned me for the fact that I had alcohol on my breath (that didnt go over to well with me) after giving my report it was 5 a.m I slept for maybe 10-15 min and it was time to go fish. I owe a huge thanks to Steve Couts, Steve Williams & Gil Mora for all loaning me poles and a few hooks a bag of senkos O and also Jeremy for hooking up the Pointer which is what I threw all day the 2nd day and had 3-4 limits just couldnt get a kicker to the boat I did hook a few though. So you guys rock and it was kinda funny to have all my tackle fit in a Crown Royal Bag. Anyways my limit was good for 3rd and I was pretty happy with myself for sticking it out and amazed by the offers for equipment on tournament day :+ Thanks Again to everyone. So after the tournament I caught a ride with Taylor to S.J. (thanks bro) then had my pop come get me to Watsonville. I passed out at 5 p.m and woke to a phone call at 11 that they had found my truck! So yesterday I got a ride to Brentwood and got my truck out of impound for $270. Everything was gone my stero,amp,12" sub, clothes, licence, rods ,reels, digital camera, ipod, all the tackle I own my AOY plaque as well and my Dual plaque ;( and alot more stuff to then they sprayed the whole outside and inside with wd-40 to avoid fingerprints I guess
I dropped it off at a shop last night to be evaluated and I hope the don't total it... yes guys believe it or not the truck is in worse shape then it was!! :+ Well thats about it outside the fact that insurance isnt going to cover anything in the truck. I added up about $5000 in fishin stuff alone. I still cant believe it is gone I went to my fishing room last night and all my rod racks are empty, it was almost enough make me cry. Well sorry for the long story but I know a few are wondering. I can't thank all you guys enough for offering to help me out and I would be honored to take any donations no matter what it is because as I sit right now I cant even go fishing well I guess I just cant go catching :P Mitch, Paul, Lake, Swampy or Buzzy all have my cell phone number if needed I just dont want to post it on here. So once again I cant thank you guys enough for all the help at the tournamnet and now after it amazes me how much everyone is willing to help and I can only hope to return the favor at a later date. Hopefully not under the same cirumstances. Its really nice to know that you have friends to support you when you are feeling as low as you can. As the great Arnold said "Ill be back" take care you guys and thanks for everything. O and congrats to Taylor for the win I am glad you won you deserved it after such a tough ending to the year and Jermey nice job on 2nd although I am tired of seeing you in front of me :P

Scott,

Sorry to here about your truck and all your fishing stuff. Like lake said - it's proably the Methel island loosers who made off with it.

Hey I have a Diawa baitcaster(Prycon?) that you can have if you need it. It's a right hand retrieve. Let me know. :+

Scott,

I don't know what your lodging situation is (homeowner, renter, live-with-'rents, etc.) but if you have homeowner's or renter's insurance the coverage sometimes extends to stuff that you take on the road. Check it out, if applicable...

I feel bad 'cuz I was right there when it happened, but I was so out of it that when I heard the truck start up I thought it was time to get up and start fishing! Then I looked at the clock and figured you were just moving over to the campground to sleep. Makes me wonder if they weren't checking out what was in my truck while I was asleep in the back...

Hey Scott,

When my wife had her car broken into at the mall our auto policy covered the stereo and stuff and our homeowners policy covered everything that was stolen that wasn't actually attached to the vehicle. My leather jacket, kids gameboys, digi camera and $500 of girl scout cookie money were all covered by the homeowners policy.

You will get new plaques to replace the ones stolen in fact Paul ordered them just this morning. What kind of dumb bastard would steal a trophy with someone elses name on it?

I also could probably kick down a reel or two if you need em. I have a couple of Quantums and an Okuma you could choose from.

I need to go through my garage but I think I have a right hand retrieve Curado and a MH action rod. I know I have a spincast or two although I am less sure about the reels for the same. I also have more plastics than I know what to do with. Maybe you could come by Saturday or Sunday and we could go through what I have. My wife would love it if I were to pass on some of this stuff.

Scott,
Sorry to hear about your loss. You're handling it a lot better than I would. In fact, it probably should have happened to me with my habit of leaving my truck running at the ramp at Beacon. I had a car stolen several years ago and the cops could not have cared less. At least you got the truck back. Even if they total it, you can probably keep it AND get some insurance money. That's kinda what we did when they found our car. Check into it. I have some extra bags of plastics, jigs, cranks, etc that I'll give you.

Hang in there,
Doug
