In case any of you hear about this, no need to panic. I have spoke with the US Coast Guard and we shouldnt have any problems. Do expect more Sheriff traffic then normal and if you decide to fish Union Point marina you "could but doubtful" will be asked to leave the area.

STOCKTON, Calif. -- The Middle River in San Joaquin County has been closed to all recreational boating because of the recent levee break.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department requested that the U.S. Coast Guard authorize the closure because of the levee breach on Upper Jones Tract.
The closure encompasses the Middle River waterway between Santa Fe Cut, on the north side, and Woodward-Victoria Canal on the south side.
Sheriff's patrol boats will patrol the closure area on a 24-hour basis. The San Joaquin Sheriff's Department will constantly re-evaluate the need for the closure, according to officials.

last saturday, I did see a sheriff boat, as I was rowing back to union point after I hopped the barrier, he just cruised by and waved. There was a bunch of wakedudes doing there thing in victoria and he didn't seem to mind, but you never know when they might just shut the whole area down if they feel it is necessary. Sure is good to be on the other side of the barrier :+
