why does anyone care that you caught an 8lber. I sure as hell dont when you give 0 information that is going to help me catch an 8lber. No location which is typical now and understandable but what about all the other good stuff? If your going to post pics because you want to brag at least give SOME info.

Jimmy,
I completely disagree. There is no reason that he should have to give up his information in order to share his excitement with us, that is solely his decision.

Malakas,
Congratulations! That fish is very beautiful, she's got great colors on her.

I agree with you jimmy. That snow is bogus. Are these people really that afraid of giving away there secrets, most of us don't live where these people catch fish. Any given day is different, I've caught fish in an area then went back for zippo a few days later....Maybe Rob can just put a bragging board up so people can see themselves online....BassMan

Hey, we're having this argument again... sweet I'm so pumped!!! Hmmm, thinking to myself now... how to turn this into a postitive? I know!

Hey malakas, first of all welcome to the site. Sorry that you're getting a bit of a rude welcome here. But since you're new on the site you probably don't realize that the topic of blanking out the background on your pics has been long debated here and on all the sites where guys post pics of big bass. I'm pretty familiar with the issue since I was one of the first people to do it online.

My experience with this issue has been that when you post a pic with little or no info, it makes people feel like you are insulting them. Whether that is your intention or not, that's how it makes some people feel. Since you can't change how other people feel about things, sometimes it's better to change your approach.

I'm thinking what might be a good option for you would be to get a photo gallery in the members gallery to put your pics in. This way you can have a chance to show off your bass a little bit and if people feel insulted by it, they can just not go to your gallery. If you need help with that, check out the help page, it's not hard at all :)

http://www.calfishing.com/help/photo_gallery_help.htm

Some will still feel upset about it but if you post your pics to a gallery, we can help avoid these type of debates on the forum and hopefully keep people who would otherwise probably get along great from fighting amongst themselves. I really don't mean to discourage you from posting, I'm just offering a friendly suggestion to help keep the peace.

-Rob

Man people just need to get out and fish more... including me. The poster caught his biggest fish in awhile and was proud. Even without the snow it looks like shoreline behind him so it would probably be hard to figure out what lake anyways.

With that said he could have given information without giving up to much, but thats up to him. Maybe have said something like it was caught on a 6 inch worm working it off a point slowly uphill. Just something basic like that, nothing too detailed.

Ohhh and Nice fish !

As far as where you caugh your fish, it would be kind of nice to give us an idea what lake or was it in the delta, or what the water temp was, how deep you were fishing, that sort of info. Exact locations, you keep, to be able to go back and possibly duplicate your catch or better it. It is a great looking fish also.

Jerry

Show me the water, I will fish.

GO GIANTS!!!
That said, NICE FISH!!! Congrats, bro!
THAT said, stop the angst. It's silly. We all love to catch fish, let's enjoy going fishing and congratulate others when said pursuit pays off. Even if malakas posted the date, conditions, lake, location, presentation, etc. that led to his great catch, trying to copy him would prove next-to-impossible and likely fruitless.
I'm not saying I don't lie. If I'm on big fish, I'm going to do all I can to keep them to myself (for the time being), to enhance the enjoyment I get from fishing or up my odds in a tourny. I'm not saying this GREAT site shouldn't be about exchanging ideas and knowledge--that's what makes it great! I AM saying we all know how fickle fish are, we should keep fishing hard and smart, share the info we want to share, and be glad for those who have a good day on the water.
As long as I've been in the fish biz, as much time as I've spent around great anglers, I still can't comprehend the animosity. We're all here for the same reason. Respect. -d

Nice fish any way, Be proud of your picture for you will have it for a lifetime. Just think about your actions a little more and remember when you post any pic of a trophy bass wether its 8 or 18 you will be questioned. My advice to you get a picture forum for your self as Rob stated, and drop a thread or two for any viewers to read. Who cares if you dont give up your lake I dont. So where did you catch it:-)

I really just dont care where he caught his fish, what he caught it on or whatever. I just think its pointless to post a picture with absolutly ZERO info. I didnt have the intention of starting another one of these threads. I just slipped I guess normally I ignore most pointless posts like this rather well. Its just getting hard to find the real worth while threads to check out and read.

Its like a needle in a hay stack.

well, I can say I caught the fish on a fluke....shallow, about 5 feet in an eastern facing cove, about 11 am. The lake is in the bay area.

Who cares where he caught it? Find your own bite, it will make you better in the end anyways.

Congrats bro and don't listen to the complaints just keep doing what you're doing obviously it's working. You can tell people later after you burn the bite }(
