Hey Rob, what's that funny colored line on you reel? Can't say how many times people have asked me that, and as a lot of you guys know by now, the answer is Triple Fish Camo line. I've been using the various Triple Fish brands for about 10 years now and am very happy to say that I am now on the pro-staff. I really believe that in the $10 price range for a 1/4lb spool, you can't get a better line for the price on the Original Camo or Camo-escent.
One thing I am really excited about is fishing straight 30lb florocarbon on my big bait rods. I spooled it up last night and it feels really good, very straight and limp through the guides. I'll give an update in a few months on how it goes. The bigger spools of Florocarbon are expensive, but if I can get more feel, better abrasion resistance and longer lasting line out of it, that could make it worth the while. The Triple Fish Florocarbon is made in Germany and is crystal clear unlike some of the other stuff that is milky white or grey.
If anyone has any questions about their line products now or in the future, don't hesitate to contact me here or on email.

Rob, I know they have a new line out. 'Triple Fish RX Spinning Line'
I'd be curious to know if it has any benefits versus fluoro? For the guys that don't want to spend the money on flouro, this might be an alternative? Here's the description:
Specially blended for use with any open-face reel, this unique copolymer line produces up to 40% less memory than traditional monofilament and has up to 20% less line diameter than comparable matching mono. 440-yard spools.
As for the braid, I have been using P-Line Spectrex. It doesn't bury into the spool like the older braids. Also, the only spots that seem to 'wash out' are directly around the knot. I've had some really hard hooksets in thick cover and never had a problem with the knot strength. I'm using the 30lb on a Kistler 7'6" flippin stick. It's very sensitive as well.

This is too funny...
I had never fished the braid or the RX Spinning, mostly because it's hard to come by and I didn't know until recently that you could buy it direct off their site. So when I put in my order I asked for a spool of each, just to check out and because I thought people might ask about those lines. Sure enough, Todd asks about the braid and you ask about the RX spinning. Darn wiseguys!
Aright - the RX spinning I got a filler spool of 6lb. It looks like about 4lb test, maybe thinner even. I actually double checked the label on it when I saw how thin it was to see if it was actually 6lb test. I'm skeptical of any line that looks way smaller diameter than it should be, but we'll see how it works!
Another thing I was stoked to see on their site was the 2lb camo-escent filler spool. This was the line that originally got me hooked on Triple Fish because it was the only 2lb test I could find that didn't break rediculously easy. When I go trout fishing this summer in the Sierras, it's going to be a massacre on the planter trout with that stuff :9 hehe.
Woodsac - as far as washing out by the knot, that's what I'm most annoyed by. The line that is in the fish's field of vision is the line closest to the knot. If it's white, that just can't be good IMO. I tried the trick of coloring the line with a magic marker, but then I hear that can weaken the line ... so it's kind of like shoot, after a while of dealing with all these hangups with braid I just want to go back to what I know and trust. In the last month I landed a 6lber on 25lb triple fish camo that had me completely wrapped around a rock and a 7lber on 20lb that had me in some tree branches when I hooked it. When I hook those kind of fish I don't want to get all paranoid about avoiding rocks or setting the hook too hard or having the line weakened by magic marker or whatever else. I just want to slam the hookset and get the fish in.

I see what you're saying. I guess I never really thought about it too much cause I've only used that line for heavy stuff and I've always had a weight pegged above the hook. I never noticed it until I went to re-tie one time. And I've never really used it around rocks. Lots of wood and tullies with no problems.

I haven't used any big fluoro yet. I'm using 10lb P-Line fluoro on my dropshot and that stuff is strong! I've dug a couple 3 and 4 lb fish out of small timber (2-3 inches) with the 10 lb no problem. I don't think it would have any problems on the mats in 25 or 30 lb.
