I have started using live crawfish a good bit. I have been catching some good fish on them also (we had over a 40lb limit tuesday night), but I miss alot of fish. I usually fish them on a carolina rig with a weedless hook. I hook them in the tail. Anybody got any tips to increase my percentage? I also broke off 2 fish last night on 25lb Izorline. I had my drag pretty tight but there are alot of sticks and rocks where I fish. Could the tight drag have caused the break? Should I set the hook as soon as I feel the bite or let them a have it a while.

Thanks for any help

I have not fished live 'dads to many times but I would think you need to let them take it maybe even feed them some line. I dont think you need to set the hook right away. You are fishing with fish food so they should hang on pretty good. But don't take it from me take it from the master and check out Fish Chris web site.

Use a bigger hook and really let them eat it.
