alot of the factors you need to consider is what are the bass in your lakes primarily feeding on? we could help you out if we have that type of info.also see the reviews of the swimbaits here on the site.Rob has some great reviews of the baits and some even have the footage of the baits being used.

I used to live in Bay Minette, AL, so know those waters well. You should definitely buy the Hitch colored ROF 5 Huddleston to imitate the golden shiners in your waters. And get a slammer, choose any color and if I was you Id get the 9 inch (trust me, it will work on fish of all sizes). I dont personally like any of the bluegill imitators out there (unless bed fishing) but the Mattslures bluegills look great in the water. Let us know how your progress is coming. I always wondered what would happen throwing swimbaits in the southeast.

I'm a little 'nawth' of you here in middle GA but I caught my first swimbait-Bass on one of Matt's Bluegills.

Here is his site: http://mattlures.com/bluegillswimbait.htm

I would go w/ some smaller baits at first till you get some confidence mabey missionfish castaic hardheads matt lures and some of the original castaic sinkers (these wont break the band)

Hey let that Bass go I wanna catch her some day

I really like my 3;16 bluegill bait ,it swims well and probably looks like something you'd find swimming in your waters. sr plastics makes a good bass pattern bait.and like everyone else said get a slammer! this is probably the groups favorrite bait,i know its mine.
