#4218, "new swimbait setup..."

I currently use the Daiwa Heartland-S big bait special with a AG 6500C3 reel. I am thinking about getting a beefier rod to throw the bigger baits. Perhaps the new Okuma swimbait rod (XH). I will probably put the 6500C3 on that rod, and will need a new reel for the Daiwa rod, which I will use for the smaller swimbaits. Any suggestions on a reel? I was thinking about getting a used curado on ebay...any other ideas?

thanks,
nate

I checked out new Okuma swimbait rods at the Hall show today. In a word... SWEET! I don't think you'll find a better rod for the money.

The Curado BSF200 will work great for that setup, I have that setup and it works great for the 5 to 7" baits, i tried 20 lb initially but it left me with very little line so I changed to 50 lb power pro with a top shot of 20 lb. fluorocarbon and i like it a lot, you can cast it a mile and you have the muscle for any big fish.

Good luck with your selection.

Are the Okuma swim bait rods for sale at the Fred Hall show?
