#13500, "Salt Creek Report"

Hit up the spot where I got rocked by something BIG a few days ago, using squid for bait. Caught/released 2 Calico Bass (one legal), and 1 Walleye Perch. Surf was bigger, but suprisingly this spot was still fishable as this swell is mostly from the south.

Nice report! Did you try grubs? We should hit the beach up sometime!

...I almost exclusively bait fish, since there is a lot of structure at this spot, but did catch/release a nice Calico on the Krok. Just got some grubs with leadheads for the first time...lost a few of them fast in the rocks/kelp with no bites on them.

Yea fishing them on a Carolina rig with a 1/4 or 1/2 oz egg sinker and number 6 owner mosquito hook is the way to go with the surf grubs. 1.5" works best. Motor Oil Red Flake.
