#6610, "Yucaipa Regional Park 11-3-02"

After work I thought I'd try Yucaipa, since trout season opened up yesterday. I was a little mad when they told me the fishing fee was raised to $7 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The action started off slow and stayed slow the whole time I was there. I asked at the gate how busy they were the past two days, and it took over an hour to get everyone in on Saturday who was in line when they opened!!!

I fished the top lake for a few bites, and no fish. This lake must have received a lot of pressure Saturday. I then went down to the middle lake, I caught one trout on a jig here. I then tried the bottom lake, and hooked in to two nice fish, but lost both.

The lakes very fished very heavily this weekend, and what fish are left do not want to bite. Then again I fished from 3:30 to 5 and caught only 1 trout.

Tight Lines,
Jason Huckeba
