For those of you who don't know, the FLW championship is on cross lake which has a rule that all fish 14" to 17" must be released and only 4 fish over 17" may be kept.
Sooo you see alot of over 10# weights and a lot of under 6#.
Van Dam and Yelas didn't even get a limit.
Co-Anglers (AAA) Did really bad with most getting 0-3 fish and only one 4 fish angler...And he was paired with Aaron Martens that day so Aaron at least put the guy on fish.
xcellentfx, I hope that Aaron Martens wins the tourney but it'll be awfully hard in that bracket system! For years we've taken crap from the anglers back east, like B.A.S.S. and FLW. So I hope Aaron shuts them up at least for a while. GO Aaron!:)
Go Aaron Martens! He's still in the hunt after Day 2...but needs a really good bag to win it all! I personally think he can take it. Let's see how he does today at Cross Lake, LA.:)
I totally don't understand how this bracket thing works. Day 3 he has to have a weight high enough to defeat his opponent then they take Day 1+day2+day3 to ranke them for winning. So let me paint a picture for you guys.
Angler A for 3 days gets the following totals 15,15,16 He faces in the 2 bracket angler B who gets 99,99,15
So angler b is out even though he has a total bag weight of 213 lbs!
Angler c (who face E earlier, E got skunked) gets a total of .5,.5,5 faces D 99,99,4
So Angler A and Angler C get in the money with weights of 46 and 6 and Angler B and D are out with weights of 214 and 203
Well, Aaron Martens played out the final round and ended up 6th and with the strict rules they put on the anglers...he did an admiral job at representing us out here in California! Well Done Bud, now it on to the B.A.S.S. tourney next month, good luck!:-)
