Can anybody give me some tips on the Skinner stripers. Which topwaters work the best? When fishing early with livers or chovies, how should I rig, and how deep should I hang it. Also, any tips on fishing the cats at the damn bouy line? I'd really appreciate any tips.
I've had some luck with a #7 Rapala shallow shad rap in the shad pattern near the outlet. Had a whole bunch of schoolies follow it to the boat last week.

get out early, look for boils. throw traps and spooks at the boils. have a rod w/ 5 in. senko smoke silver flake or white weightless if hard baits are not working toss the senkos into the boils. the thing about this lake is that the location of the good fish is not predictable. the carolina rig, 18 to 20" leader w dead shad is good for the deeper water. also jigging a large hopkins spoon or kastmater has produced. if you find them its on. ken

Thanks for the tips. The Sammy is my son's favorite bait. He will be happy to throw it all morning. If anybody has a young-un that wants to learn to walk-the-dog, you can't go wrong with the Sammy or the Giant-Dog-X from Mega-Bass. They are pricey, but you should see the action that my 12-year-old gets!!
I'll be sure to have a Senko tied on.
We're heading out tomorrow. I'll be sure and report on the bite. There were some good size carcasses in the cans at the cleaning station last saturday. The boil was off marina point that day.
