I got reservations up the street from Pea Soup Andersons but the rooms are $90.00 a night. Anyone know of anyplace cheaper ? I don't want to stay in a dump, I got the woman and little guy on this trip but at the same time I don't want to spend 90 some odd dollars on a room in that town. Help me out guys

Dave, There is a motel called "Sanji Kota" right across the road from the Indian Casino between Cachuma and Solvang. It's not the Ritz-Carlton or anything, but it's pretty inexpensive, and the lady will set you up to get your batteries charged right next to your room without unhooking the boat(way cool!!). I think the city is considered Santa Ynez, but it is definetly the closest place to stay for Cachuma.

What about staying in one of the yurts at Cachuma? They are a tent cabins out on the point past the launch ramp on the left.
I have been one just to check it out I thought they were cool. Might be a little windy at night, but I’m sure you children would think its an adventure

See this http://www.sbparks.org/DOCS/Cachuma.html#Yurt Camping

If you do it le us know how it works out.

I agree, the yurts are your answer. The lake has nice showers. The only thing is the wind on that side of the lake, but if you are looking just for accomodations for the close departure place to your boat or a certain spot on the lake, the yurts are fine.
Be aware, there are only three yurts, but, the smallest of them can accomodate 6 people easily. With only three yurts, make reservatins.
And, if you find out how or where on the lake to catch... HELP!
u can't catch.. tight... etc.
