I arrived at Yucaipa Regional Park at 5:30 to get in line and was already 20 cars back! Thats what I get for going to the last stock of steelhead. The gate opened up exactly at 7:30 no earlier even though the line was up to about 70 cars. I went straight to the top lake and threw out a pearl minijig. BAM! I hooked up with a 3 pound steelhead. Next cast a 2 pounder!

After that it went about a fish every other minute as the school passed back by. At about 8:30 some guys came right next to me and threw out thier bait. They were on both sides of me and I had no where to cast. I left the lake at 9 and went to the middle where I found a nice school of fish.

All in all I caught and released 16 trout in 3 and a half hours.
