I was wondering if anyone in socal had gone to Lake Prado going for bass. My friend and I live right by this lake and have a lot of luck here. Here is a pic of our biggest fish this year.

Tell us more about the lake. What were you using; where at the lake were you fishing at; is it crowded there, etc.

On that particular fish my friend was using a crankbait at a fallen over tree. The lake is crowded on the bare part of the shore where all the trout fisherman are, but if you want to go to the back of the lake, which is not accesible by car, you will find a lot of cover and alot of unpressured bass. The lake is in Chino and it is right of the 91 on Euclid Ave by the Chino Prison. I think it is 5.00 to launch a boat at it is a 19 foot maximum with no inflatables and 5hp max. It is a small lake so all you need is a trolling motor and a large bass boat would look out of place. I have had alot of luck with brush hogs and baby brush hogs on a jig head. The biggest fish have come on bill dance excaliber medium divers. here is another look of the size fish you can catch. This picture was taken on a narrow part of the lake on a weekday before closing so there arent many trout anglers. Notice the trout fishing on the other side.

Cool post. I had gone bassing there before with no success and heard there were none as they drain the lake often. Maybe that is not true or they don't drain all of it. It looks like there are a few small lakes that connect to form one big one? I did catch a catfish on a plastic there, that was all. Now I may need to go back for bass.

They havent drained the lake in a good while now so the bass have had time to grow. and it is all one big lake. I dont know how it used to be because i have just been going there since last year. I dont think there are any fish over 5 or 6 pounds because of the draining though.
