#335, "AA 3" frog"

I know this should probably go on the tackle board, but let's face it... this is the board everyone reads! (Sorry Rob) I wanted to talk about the AA 3" frog and what type results you may have had. I first saw them at the Fred Hall show in February this year at the AA booth. The frogs they had were all 3" and came in three colors, light green, medium/dark green, and brown. I thought they looked cool so I bought a couple of each color to try them. At the local golf course, they got slammed! At the near by rock quarry, I had fair success. On my second trip to the quarry, They kicked $%@!!! I was fishing them texas rigged at first, but then I found that split-shotting them worked better. I went to my local tackle shop (Sav-On Tackle in Santa Fe Springs, Ca) to get some more frogs. Coincidentaly, the AA rep was there talking to the boss. I asked about the frogs, and why I could'nt find any on the shelf. The rep told me that they don't sell enough so they only pedle them at the show (3 for $1.). I immediately placed an order for 3 dozen of the medium green. I has taken me about 4 monthes to go through the whole bag. I'm ready to start pouring my own.

I'm just curious if anyone else has seen these or had any success with them like I have. What colors woked best for you, and how did you fish them.

Later, Terry G.

Terry,

Just left Sav-on Tackle with two bags of AA frogs. They just got an order in today and they are not even on the shelves yet. Better get down there soon!

Sean

Thanks Sean. I just got in touch with AA's and they are going to pour me 200 for the show price. Where are you fishing them at? What kind of luck are you having with them?
Thanks for the reply,
Terry G.

Terry,

Although I've used the AA worms with success, I didn't pick up the frogs until I read your raves. I tried crawling them split-shotted and Texas-rigged, then swam them on a small p-head at the Castaic lagoon last weekend with limited results. Maybe it was the location, but I only hooked up on some small fish. Went to check out the rock quarry off Peck road (west side of street)yesterday after work and hooked up with tons of even smaller bass. A couple of guys told me to check out the quarry across the street next time for the fatties! Have you had any problems with security over there?

Sean

P.S. Maybe we should take this to the message board or you can e-mail directly at sdmizuno@hotmail.com if you want.
