#193, "February 24, 2000 Santa Margarita Lake"

This afternoon was overcast with a small weather front on the way. Perfect Margarita condiditions. I fished with Dale Ball who was my first day draw at the Don Pedro WON bass pro/am a few weeks ago. Dale had been on the water before I got up there around 3. He had 4 fish already and was getting lots of bites so things were looking good. We cruised out and sure enough about 10 minutes later Dale sticks one about 5 pounds. That's always nice =). We fished around in a bunch of different areas and Dale smacked another one about 3lbs. Then on a small point I snuck in a cast with the 7 inch MS Slammer and had a big boil and bite but missed the fish. A few casts later on the other side of the point I connected with a 5-4. Pretty rough day huh? We moved around some more and Dale caught two more on jigs and I got one. Another sweet winter time day out there but my hands sure feel puffy after getting as frozen as they did. It was cold!! Sorry if the reports are a little lacking in detail lately, I know there's a tournament at Margarita this weekend and I have one in mid March, so I can't be giving away all my stuff like I usually do. I know you tournament guys are reading this. Post some reports some time would ya?
Photos
Dale's 5 pounder

My 5-4
