#17588, "Margarita 10/15"

Got out about 1pm. Water level is up about a foot. There was a orange buoy underwater that I remember was floating on the surface last time out. The observation of the water level was my own due to the fact of that buoy.
The dam area still has good color about a foot visability while the salipuedes bay is dirty as well as the narrows.
A week prior I was catching them good on a crankbait and drop-shot, but yesterday for nothing. It being so close after the big rain storm I wasn't too surprised the fishing stunk.
I did manage at white oak catching a 8 or 9 pound catfish. The funny thing is I snagged the line it was caught on and lost prior. I had one hook of my crankbait caught on the braid which was broken off. The catfish was still hooked by a offset hook. Unbelievable to snag the line of a fish just laying on the bottom, but I did. That was the excitement of the day....Beautiful out there and give the lake a week of stable weather then I'm sure the fishing will pick up again.... BassMan
