Went to Picacho over the weekend. Fishing was kind of slow, but i managed to find a couple hot spots saturday afternoon. The rest of the weekend i was stuck at the launch ramps not able to go out, where the fishing was incredibly slow and i only managed 2 largemouths, and a bluegill. I didn't have a boat to take out tho so it kind of sucked, but i took my jet ski out and fished off that looking for spots. I caught some pretty decent sized largemouths and a few small catfish around 2-4 pounds back in taylor lake off plastics. I headed down about a mile or 2 from the launch ramp to where it pools up behind this long stretch of sandbars into a little lake eventually and did pretty good there. Got a few n ice largemouths, a striper,a nd a couple catfish, flippin texas rigged worms, and plastic crawdads into the tules and into hole along them. A couple hours before sunset i pulled up to the shore on the edge of that sandbar where the water would come across the point of it and run into a pool wiht no current. I threw a jerkbait on my rod and started throwing right into the current about 10-15 feet before it ran into the part with no current. First cast i pumped the thing in as fast and hard as i could and immediately hooked up wiht a nice drag screamer. Fought the thing for a couple minutes and had it leap a few times but it came off eventually probally from a poor hookset since it was a jerkbait. Looked to be a nice striper pushing double digits. I hooked up again doing the same thing a couple casts later to something else nice but a little smaller and lost it. It seemed about every other cast i would land a fish doing this, and i began to catch some nice sized fish also. Also caught my PB smallmouth i the same spot. Measured in at 15.5" and had a nice fat bellie on it. Great fighter as well. I ended up catching penty of stripers and smallies in that spot in about the next hour and a half and then headed back in. I did end up taking a couple fish picture as well so heres some that i have.

all good :) thanks for taking the time to put up your pics.

hey I figured out why your pics weren't posting to the forum also. It's because of some odd characters in the names of the files. If you name an image file with an & or a % or a * or basically any character that you have to hit shift and a number key to generate, the forum software gets unhappy about it.

Your best bet when naming files to add to the forum is to use standard characters like 1 through 9 and a through z. You can have a space in the file name but an underscore would be even better. So I might name a file something like rob_delta_striper.jpg or 11-20-06_delta_bass.jpg but you never want to name a file something like rob%fishing.jpg or me&abigba$$.jpg Hope that makes some sense.
