If you had to pick one pair of polarized sunglasses for fishing, which would you get? I'm trying to decide on my first nice pair, as to this point I've been using some Arnette polarized glasses and they aren't quite getting it done anymore aside from driving. The main fishing applications I will need them for our seeing swimbait followers, sight fishing beds, and sight fishing the surf. Based on the reviews by Rob, I'm currently leaning towards the Kaenon Kore's, but I'm uncertain as to which lens color would be the right call. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I have two pairs of Kaenons, 2 pairs of Costa Del Mars and a pair of Oakleys. I have to say I prefer the Kaenons hands down over the other brands.

If you get the Kaenons and you want an all around lens, get the C-12 lens. That lens was recommended to me by Mike Long and he was right on, it's a great all around lens. I can't say I've worn every brand of sunglasses but I've worn quite a few and the Kaenons are very tough to beat. They're super light, non-fatiguing, scratch resistant, and above all the optics are just excellent for seeing fish underwater.

I have always been a big fan of Oakley. Then when I got way into bass fishing I found a couple of pairs that you can not go wrong with. The one I wear the most are "Monster Dogs" in Dark Amber/Bronze. I also have "GASCAN" both are great. I was on the water once and my partner was wearing polarize glasses and I was wearing my polarized Monster Dogs and I was trying to point out shad that I could see but he couldn't....Very good performance, well worth the $$$.

I agree on the C-12 lenses. The second pair I got have those lenses on them and they are a great lens for most conditions. I got the yellow lens on the first pair, which work great early in the AM or when it's cloudy.

What is the color of the C-12 lens?

Hi There, I am a registered optician and I guess for my money I would buy the Maui Jim polorized glasses. Maui Jim has several layers of anti reflective components that make it easy to see through the water and they also have a hydrophobic coating the sloughs off water - they are also usually glass lenses which makes them more durable.
I also work at Costco, not that I am plugging them but they have the best prices on close out models. For under $100 you can get a good pair of glasses - check the return policy at the store as you buy as you might be able to try them out for a few days to see if you like them.

Is their a major difference between the small, medium and Large lens sizes? I found a deal where you can get them for $78 and free shipping, but they are the small lens size.

those are the ones i use. i have the tsunami model and it comes with 3 different colored lenses. hasnt failed me yet and is actually the most comfortable pair i've used so far (i have a big head)

this questions addressed to Crystal,i'm interested in getting the glasses you mentioned but need them to be prescritption,do the glasses have the same effectiveness w/ the pres. lenses? also is by chance the costco in santa maria? i live close to there and would stop in with my info if so.

I checked out the glasses @ cosco and wasnt impressed at the styles they carry,the maui jims werent the best unless its the 80's style you like ...

I hate to throw in my two cents so late ,but I have to. The best all around fishing glasses are Smith/Action Optic Guides Choice w/ Photo Copper Mirror lens. The lens are photochromic, the lens changes tint by about 10%. I tried MJs and the Kaenons but the Smiths are better. The Guides Choice are not the best looking glasses but they have the best coverage of any glasses I have worn.

I just got a pair of Bill Dance glasses, don't laugh. Price was right @ $19.95, polarization works and the best thing is that they actually float if the fall off.:7
