I've been using 7" also, no you did not made a bad decission, they both work pretty well as a matter of fact, 7" will get more strikes but not as big strike than the 9" 2-3lbs will bit a bit intemidated on big lures, 7" is more of a recreation 9" is more of a trophy hunter, either or you can't go wrong on MS Slammer ;-)

good luck

The 9" is an all around better bait. The 2 & 3 pounders jump on it as well as the bigger fish. I was disappointed I had a 7" until I started fishing it subsurface. I only catch fish with the 7" that way. If I want a surface slammer it's gonna be a 9".....BassMan

Like I said, you can't gp wrong on the slammer its just really depends on your confidence, technique, or method on using them.. I had the opposite couldn't get much strike on 9" until like I do when I used 7"..:).

I've seen this question a couple times recently. just bought a 9" that I have not fished yet but the 7" catches lots of fish. Might have to sort through a bunch of 2 pounders to get a good one. 7" is a fun bait to fish. I'm sure if you stick with it and you will like it.
