#16252, " Lake Palmdale 6/13/06"

School's finally off for me and I've been fishing more recently. Decided yesterday to go to the local club lake from about 11:30 to 3:00 to see if I could get anything. I had fished for only for an hour or so the day before, and had only ended up with 2 missed fish. Not so today!
I fished shore today, can't tow a boat with my mom's car. First good dock I like I fished hard for about a half hour for nothing. Not looking good. In the van and off to my next favorite dock I go. I found another local guy on the dock I planned to fish, but it was fine with me, I just fished the dock next to it. Seemed pretty slow, the local guy on the other dock always catches fish and he was blanking. I started off with a T-rigged Beaver, but I went immediately to the end of the dock and fished it for nothing. But then I noticed the water had gone up about a foot in this particular area, overnight! Between the 2 docks is the main water inlet for the lake and thus fish congregate around the current for food. The WD had raised the water up and the fish followed. Duh! So I turned around and started draggin' the Beaver around in the shade underneath the shade the trees next to the dock give off...Yes!
1st cast, a good kepper nails the Beaver. Then i got 2 more keepers on the next 2 casts. About 10 minutes later the local guy left. So as I'm getting ready to leave the dock,I pitch way up into the shallow water in the current next the inlet gate. Drag it about 6 inches... bam. The final fish was a real fat 5 pounder. This fish must've been 16, maybe 18 inces around but she was only like 20 inches long! Chunk. Ened the day with those 4 fish at 3, after missing 2 more. And the last cast of the day I was flipping the tules a couple docks down. Guess what? A good fish nailed the Boom-boom tube at the last second, and i lose him trying' to pull him out of the jungle :( Oh well, the day was good enough already! :)

Bass + Fisherman= BAASS ADDICTT!!!
