#16161, "What Bait To Use?"

With all of the wet weather we had this year in California, fishing has been...let's say, not normal.

The Sacramento River is still way high, which has made stripper fishing from the bank a bear. The colder weather we had made the usual period for nailing bass, unusual.

So I am thinking of going catfish for a while. Usually I catch Mr. Whiskers by mistake. So a plan of attack is needed.

What bait do you use? I have heard that soaking chicken livers is best.

What about channel cats?

Thanks for your help.

I would try Liver, frozen mackerel,or Anchovies ...all work well .The liver i would soak in garlic,or some catfish scent to stink it up a little.
Let us know how you did.
