Hey guys I haven't posted in a while since I moved to chicago. The bass out here are pretty small a four pounder is a pig. I'm going to be in cali for a week around the 12th of march. Problem is traveling with all my rods is a bitch. I am extending an open invite to fish Lake Mission Viejo ( home of the next record )to somebody that can bring some extra rods. I'll need a swimbait stick for the hudds and a rod to fish a jig on beds with. I will bring reels and baits. Let me know what you guys think. Any takers. I have got some fish in the mid teens around this time last year.

Thanks,

Brian

I go all the time let me know when you'll be there and I'll see if I can get you on the water. I have plenty of gear so just bring reels and baits and we'll stick some fish. Heard the beds are on with a 17 caught today...

Hey both of you can hop in my boat if Magmaster brings ALL of his tackle and leaves it with me "by accident"!! You guys will get em ive no doubt! Alot of big fish caught right now by guys that live and die by the "bed"!! At least some of us including Mag know what to do when the wind blows and fronts push em off the beds! Had to fish 20ft. deep yesterday for my prize!
Good luck guys!!!

Hey Mnfish I'll be in cali and in mission viejo for a week starting on the 12th for a week of fishing. Last year right around this time I hooked and lost a fish pushing 20 pounds ten feet from the boat to a thrown huddleston. I saw the fish suspended and got to watch her slowly swim up and suck it in. I got a little ( ok maybe alot) excited and swung early. If you're serious send me an e-mail at silverstarguy@hotmail.

Hey Perry, i wont say anything on the water because im cool like that but......If you are fishing on someones boat it better be a registered boat by a LMV Member. The guards are checking lake passes and boat registration for each person due to many anglers sneaking on the lake (probably in large part to all the press it got last year). Also, they will throw you off the lake with no warning if you are within 15 ft. of the boat docks. Trust me i almost got booted the other day and i was 20 ft away from a dock! Just a warning as i would hate to see you come all the way out here, make plans to fish with someone, then get booted and not be able to chase the fish you lost last year!!! Dont say i never did you any favors :)
Take care and good luck!

Shawn

Found out the 17 may have been snagged...

Anyways we're good but I do have to work that Saturday at the Del Mar show. Sunday is good and Friday night (I love to night fish) and I am confident I can get us some fish. I'm heading out tomorrow for a few hours to look around and see what's up. I'll shoot you an e-mail when I get back into work on Tuesday and we can plan it a little better.

Mr.F catching fish deeper? Never would have imagined that... See you on the water

Gee, i wonder if the snagger is the same guy who always claims to have caught teen fish every time you see him on the water? Everybody at the Hall show was told personally about his 17 lber. Hey Mag, you forget that im the original deepwater worm dragger! How do you think i get bit during the day June through Jan? Actually, more of my pigs have come dragging in deep water versus bed fishing. Anyways, a big fish is like a good woman! No matter how you get em (legally) you remember and cherish every one forever!!!

Hey Shawn just so you know I was planning on renting a boat. That 20 foot rule is funny, when I was out there in Jan I got bugged about being to close too. I had no plans to use an unregistered boat on mission viejo I just hoped to score a better ride ya know. Have you thrown the swimbait around at all recently?

Brian

I have some decent staging spots if the bed thing isn't happening. I even bought a huge ass net just in case we find a toad! Shawn is always on fish. Good enough to beat me in our tourney out there even with a 7 in the livewell (well almost 7).

I know that you have a great deep bite Shawn. I did manage to figure it out late last summer and ready for it to happen again. Now that I don't have to take my roommate out trout fishing anymore I will be strictly bass again. And I have had zero bites on the Platinum also. It's just to crazy for those fish I think. I'll stick with what I know works out there for now I guess. I lost a solid 12ish bass in the fall on the front half of the lake. Partly cloudy day and she wanted it before it got dark but she was a little boat shy. Went back as soon as it got dark and she nailed it. I didn't have a net at that time (I know stupid me) and lost it at the boat. Now I have the "el gigante" Halibut sized net so no more lost fish at the boat.
