Any word on what's working? Anyone netting shad? I have a net and bait tank but don't want to lug them on the boat if there are no bait fish to catch.

Thinking about trying my hand at drop-shotting for the first time with shad-colored flukes -- any other suggestions?

If anyone else is planning to be there, let me know. Thanks!

I was there Tues 1/17. The bass were boiling on very small shad. Probably around 1" size shad. Shad schools weren't thick. I just left my net in the truck. Had a few hits but only managed to land this one on a spinner. I might be out there Sunday if weather permits...

Thanks. Got skunked and then the wind came up so bad we couldn't hold position. Worst I've ever seen.

Drop-shotted flukes, threw Texas-rigged Senkos, Storm swimbaits -- nothing.

But I'll be back!

E-man -- nice one on the spinner.

Thanks jimmo. Sorry you didn't do too well. I ended up canceling on Sunday because of the winds, I didn't want to chance it. Anyway, I noticed you didn't use any front spinners in your lure selection. You can pick them up at Gallion's in Castaic. They're made by Sworming Hornet and they have a huge selection there.

Good job fish! I'm surprised they even let anyone launch Sunday. I was there over a week ago and they didn't let us in cuz the wind was so bad. Oh well, i'm gonna try and go out this Monday.

Love to know what kind of spinner and did you get 'em near the shore in the coves or were they deeper off points? I metered a ton of fish around 30 feet in 50 feet of water.

Thanks -- I looked up the Swarming Hornet online. What color do you favor and what plastic to you use with it?

The Smokin Shad, Green Albino and Arkansas Shiner are all good colors. From 1/8 ounce-3/8 ounce with matching Zoom trailers. Tiny Fluke for the smaller heads and Super Fluke for the larger heads.

Tackle Warehouse has them in almost all sizes and colors.

I ordered from Tackle Warehouse a couple of days ago, and got some Super Flukes in albino and pearl white. How do you like to fish this lure? Where were you catching your fish -- points or shallow?

Appreciate the input!
