#14523, "what lakes are open this weekend?"

Well, Pudd is close until next week or so I was told today. Anyone know what lakes are closed in SoCal? Are Perris or Castaic gonna open this weekend?

I don't see any reason why Perris would be closed, it shouldn't have been too effected by the storms. And as long as the freeways are open to Castaic it should be open also.

I bet Pudd is a big muddy mess right about now, but it should make for a good spring(spawn) hopefully.

I just heard today that Castaic was stocked with trout "yesterday". Please correct me if my relayed info is wrong. As far as I was told it is definitely open. They stocked the upper and lower.

I was up at castaic today at the west ramp it is full of small branches and srub the life guards were trying to clear it out and the gate to the lower lake ramp is close. the main upper lake ramp is open but I did not check to see if they planted any trout the water is brown. lake is almost full another 5 ft. it would have gone over the spillway.

Since the gate at the lower lake was close they did plant a double load at the upper lake on tuesday.

It was 3000 lbs. at the main ramp. No plant at the lower.
The water is very murky. It looks a little worse at the lower lake. But, almost just as bad at the upper.

That's a lot of trout. They don't put anything bigger than a pound or two in there, do they?

The ones i saw were a little less than a pound. Sometimes they plant 2 lbers. I don't think any 2 lbers. were planted this time.
