Just doodling those Jigs all day. Only caught three fish but one was 11.2, the other 7.4, and a 3 lber. Gotta love it. Nobody on the lake but me. Water temp in the low 50's, air in the 30's with a wind chill in the low 20's. Miserable, but easily worth it. I wasn't cold when we landed those fish, I was soaking wet from landing the fish, I took the jackets and gloves off I was warm from the adrenaline. And then after some kisses, and pictures, she swam away to see another day :-) .

Release the big girls!!

Outstanding BIGGUNS young man!

Would you mind expanding on how you attracted and caught them?

Thanks a bunch. It felt good. It's been awhile since I've caught some bass that big. I was fish a 1/2 oz Jig and just doodling it real slow. I was fishing the day after a front, which is really ususally the hardest conditions, and it was, but evidently some of the bigger fish were willing to feed. I only caught five alllll day. All I can say is slow, slow slow. I wasn't hopping the jig, I was just shaking it in place, reeling up and made another cast. They were in shallower water right near a creek channel. Bass like to hug creek channels in the winter. The water was rushing through the creek channel, and they were kind of in an eddy.

Hope this helps, Jeremy

Thanks very much Jeremy. I wasn't sure what you meant by "doodling" but I understand now. I rarely 'cast' a jig unless I'm swinning a White one. I almost always pitch one to a stump but I'll try "doodling" one but bottom-snags are a problem in the swamp pond.
