I was looking through Diawa, Shimano, Pinnacle catalogs, and found out there are a lot of MG models now. Personally, I haven't used any of MG reels, so if anyone knows what the purpose is, and what it is good for and stuff, please tell me.

I have a Chronarch MG. The idea I believe is that the magnesium is very light. The Chronarch MG is a smallish reel, but it's incredibly light and smooth. The tolerances on the machining is incredible.

... and don't use them for saltwater fishing.
