does anyone have any info on crystal lake down highway 39. i believed it was closed due to fires a few years ago and it hasn't opened since. anyone know if its opening this year or do i have to wait another year?

say it isnt so!!! that breaks my heart. i used to love going there. it didnt have the best fishing but it was a good sanctuary to just go and relax.

Are you sure it was drained? That's one of the only natural lakes around and it's pretty deep. I remember catching nice holdovers years ago. I would call the forestry services just to be sure.

I used to go up there a lot havent been in years would be a shame if the closed it. Scott R

yes you are right it is one of the few natural lakes in LA county. The only natural lakes I know of LA County are the lake at the La Brea Tar pits, the lake Arboritum, and Machado lake. Crystal lake is a cool little place and for those that don't know it did holdsome bass and there were at least a few hawgs that called Crystal lake home.

I've caught bass there before but they were all dinks. I didn't think the bass got too big in there since it was such a small lake and the water was very cold.
