I'm sure others will tell you the same, but live shad is the name of the game currently. Seems that the artificials are hit and miss. I had to miss out on an opportunity to go yesterday. Good luck.

Shad is the key right now. I was out there two days ago and the shad went down. I netted a few and was able to put eight fish in the boat in about an hour. If fishing from shore try around the dam and launch ramp. Bass and stripers are coming in to eat the trout and shad that corner up in that spot. Try white swim jiggs or pearl white flukes. You can catch bass and stripers with a fluke...Good luck.

How do you usually rig the flukes? I've fished them Texas-rigged with no jig head and had no success.

I hook those things weedless style with no weight when working them through feeding fish. Let it sink to where the fish are and jerk it and wind it back to you. If they're on top, jerk it on the surface.

I fish flukes fly-line. I may put a small split shot to help it sink a lil faster. I jerk on it like a jerk bait. If you see fish busting on top toss the fluke right in the center then hang on.
