I fished the marina at Lake Perris on sunday and didn't do too bad. The trout were active, I caught 5 of them on rainbow p.b. in about an hour. I tried the pin's minnow and kastmaster, but just got "sniffers". The bass were pretty good. Caught about 8 bass while drop-shotting. They were small though, the biggest was a foot long. The bigger bass were only taking live shad. I also tried the new Castaic Swimbaits. The action on the swimbait is killer. No bites on it, but this is going to be a great lure. I'm going to fish the swimbaits and my new MS SLAMMERS at margarita on saturday. Hopefully I'll do battle with my first monster bass on a trout plug. Can anyone give me tips for fishing Santa Margarita?
