Went to Pyramid Lake but left the boat at home because the stripers are boiling in the early morning right when the sun comes up and last time I took the boat by the time I got to the south side of the lake the stripers stoped boiling so I walked down by the visitors center and as soon as the sun came up the stripers were going nuts I was running up and down the beach chasing the boils I was using Hawg Raisers and Zara Spooks, Every time I casted into the boils I hooked up I caught over 10 stripers withen 30 min. the average size was about 5 lbs I released all but 2 stripers for dinner here is a pic of a 5 & 6 lb striper.

I did not take the boat because they only boil in the early morning or late afternoon and usally by the time I launch the boat and get to the fish they are just starting to go deep dont get me wrong you should be able to find them boiling still but not as much as when the sun first comes up and also what really screws up the bite is when you have guys run right over the fish with ther boats when they are boiling it doesant last long after that the boaters push them deep but you still can catch them after that go to the dam and drift deep with anchovies that works good . As far as fishing for Largemouth that I love more than anything but I just wanted to catch something different for a change good luck.

Woohoo Daddy! That sounds like some serious fun!!! While fishing your two baits did you notice better fish on one than another? Did they start out on top and progress deeper? I've found stripers to be light sensitive but that early morning topwater thing is always best until they head out for 70-80 feet of water. If your going back you might want to play with a big saltwater rattle trap chrome blue and let her sink awhile before you burn her through. Great job on the fish, the report and the pictures! Keep em coming!

I used the Hawg Raisers when the fish were boiling far off the shore so I could cast to them and when the fish boiled closer to shore I used the Zara Spooks they both worked great I probaly caught more on the Zara Spooks.

Most of the stripers boil a good 50 yards off shore so you want to have a heavy Hawg Raiser I used a 3/4 ounce just cast it as close to the boils as possible and as soon as it hits the water rip it in as fast as you can I used a yellow Hawg Raiser, And when they are boiling close to the shore I used the shad pattern Zara Spook and worked it slow but once you see the stripers boiling you only have like 15 to 30 seconds to cast then they stop boiling and you wait untill you see them boil again bring your running shoes.
