Under the current draft the new SMP in Carpinteria will only allow fishing from the surf. Now that the people in charge know what float tubing and kayak fishing is I have gotten word that they will possibly add this type of fishing to the Carpinteria SMP if people request it.

It's kind of the same situation as the cove. They had no idea people used these areas to fish from float tubes and kayaks.

So - not that I want to distract anyone's focus from saving the cove but if float tubing or kayak fishing is something you currently like to do within the boundary of the new Carpinteria SMP you might want to mention that in your letter to Paul Reilly.
