Huge Shovelnose!! Where did you get it? I grew up spearfishing in so. orange county and remember sometimes when those things came in to mate seeing some that looked that big. Hell, some looked as big as a couch. Anyways, I always wondered how much they weighed. I just couldn't bring myself to spear em because I didn't know if they were good to eat and I would feel bad about killing something for anything other than to eat it. How do they taste, by the way?

That's a different species than the guitarfish we have in So. Cal. The species in So. Cal. grows to about 60 or so inches long.<P>Pete<P>You can't catch tomorrow what you kill today - please practice catch and release.
