#4934, "Clean and Dry at Lopez"

I just got off the phone with Dan at Lopez Lake. Lopez is now officially clean and dry and there will be inspections from this time forward. All anglers fishing the Central Coast tournament on Saturday will be inspected prior to entering the marina. The Ranger will be on hand at 5:00.

I will do everything I can to ensure that everyone gets on the lake in a timely manner.

Please let anyone know who may be coming this way.

Margarita is sure to follow.

At least I got 36 hours notice :?

clean and dry is now the norm in CA, everyone should be doing this no matter what the lake requests to help slow the spread of mussels. Thanks for the info bill

This is what a lot of people will be saying as they approach lake front gates, Because many fishermen and women do not read the forums or are on-line. "Clean & Dry" means pretty much what it says, make sure your boat, livewell, bilge are all "clean & Dry". No moisture anywhere. If Lopez is anything like what Casitas was, then you better not even have loose leaves or grass on your boat, including Trailer. This is all what it has come to in order to stop the spread of Quagga mussels in our lakes. I am planning on hitting up Margi Sunday so I will see how the Inspection is....

To fish is to live!

If you look at any check in or Pay gate they have posters up. "Don't move a mussel" and that kind of stuff. With posters in place check stations are very soon. Just like when Big bass fishing..."Be Ready" That means clean and dry. They also like to see ALL PLUGS OUT. I am sure there will be some pissed people this summer but hey they will know after one time LOL!!

Don.

Margarita has a check station now. I went up there and they sprayed my boat with hot water from a pressure washer. After I came off they put a wire on the bow ring and trailer. If you take it off to go to another lake before coming back to margarita they say you will be sprayed again and inspected. Otherwise if you leave it on they will no you haven't gone anywhere else and it is good at lopez too.
By the way only caught small bass on a crankbait.....BassMan
