#4702, "RAIN - I AM SO SCARED!!!"

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS THAT WINDS ARE IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH WITH POSSIBLE GUSTS GREATER THAN 60 MPH. BE ALERT FOR FLYING DEBRIS. IF ON THE ROAD... KEEP EYES OPEN FOR FALLEN TREES AND DOWNED POWER LINES. SECURE ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS AND STAY INDOORS IF POSSIBLE.

BOATERS SHOULD ALSO TAKE EXTRA CAUTION WHEN SECURING BOATS TO SLIPS OR BERTHS... ESPECIALLY IN LOCAL MARINAS.

These weather alert things are becoming ridiculous. When you read them, you get the idea that if it rains 3 inches, we are all going to have to board Noah's Ark and set sail for Hawaii in 80 foot waves.

Just 3 days ago, weather.com was forecasting massive rain for today. It's 11pm and it hasn't rained a drop. Oh, and it's dead calm outside. The more of these outrageous forecasts I read, the more I start to think it's all fear mongering to sell advertising on the weather websites. I'm glad I don't get cable TV so I don't have to be subjected to STORM WATCH 2008 and all the fear mongering that will go with that.

No doubt we're going to get some rain this week. Maybe we'll get a little flooding in the storm drains and the creeks will get muddy. This happens in CA. Always has, always will. Hope I don't run over any puddles on the way to town tomorrow :P

everytime they predict a big rain storm down here it misses us or we get a little tiny shower UNLESS its around the spawn. Then sure enough we get a bunch and it muddies up the water. It needs to just rain now and get all out before the spawn.

I admit it, I am a weatherunderground lurker. I dig this stuff.
But like you guys say, they tell us "it's the storm of the century" well, maybe not like that, but, I'm still waiting and waiting....

The only weather site needed is http://www.nws.noaa.gov/ which is The National Weather Services web site. It is more accurate than any other site I have been on and there are no ads on the site. The best part is that you can read the discussions of the meteorologist as they discuss the storm models that they are using to make their forecasts.

Yep, looks like 40 mph wind gusts with some sprinkles thrown in ...not the best weather to be out on Santa Margarita in a kickboat x(

Bring it on. Ventura County needs the water. Rose Valley Lakes, Piru and of course Lake Casitas which can only help the fishing there for the upcoming HBC, ya think...

Well this weather ruined my next fishing trip seeing as the wind blew down my fence. Now instead of fishing next weekend I will be putting up a new fence (weather permitting)

Still waiting for the rain in the East County of San Diego. Kind of funny that some of the weathermen that are saying that the Earth is going to perish in a hundred years from global warming can't get a accurate weather report out for the weekend. We could sure use some rain though.

We got .94 inches from 19:00 on the 4th to 08:00 on the 5th and .40 inches from 20:00 on the 5th to 08:00 on the 6th at Canyon Lake in Riverside Co. This lake fills up quick from run off and is now full and probably overflowing the dam. I wish Casitas would fill as quick. I can't wait to bail, this place is hella slow lately and I should have some new custom swimbaits and new 6" hudds when I get home. I dont care what the weather is like when I get out of here, once I get my hike in I am fishing for sure. Friends in Ventura say whe got 4 to 5 inches in Ojai.

Shoots, I was scared when the first tree fell on my house night before last! Davis got obliterated by that storm! Tree's and power lines down everywhere. My power has been out for 2 days until this morning. Two huge acacia trees fell in our yard, a portion of our fence disappeared over night, and our backyard was a lake yesterday. We set my roomates jonboat afloat in our backyard! Sorry I didn't get pics :(

Its nice to have light again. We were living off a box of those catholic candles with the saints on them haha.

Saw on KSPY last night that Santa Margarita got over 5" in the last three days :-) This is a very good thing for Lopez and Margi....Can you say Flip bite in March :-) Now for Naci its a different story, I hear they are not allowing it to refill due to construction of the pipe line at the Dam.
