#4342, "So it must be time for the goals of the new year post!"

Man, we're slacking! No one has posted the goals for the new year post yet. I don't know who started that post in the first place, I think it was Fish Chris, but let's keep the tradition alive - tell me about your goals for 2007 :)

My goals for this year are:

Teach myself to stay more focused on the water, especially when fishing with a partner.
Teach myself to listen to the water and adapt in tournament situations.
Branch out to explore more new water.
Catch at least one really big bass.
Win at least one team tournament.
Strive to make calfishing.com a little bit better every day.

I thought I had 52 but just counted now and came up with 53, score :) I'm horrible at math so Josh D may have to check my calculations. My first fish over 10 was September 2000. One thing about catching 10 pounders is there will always be someone who has caught more than you! There are quite a few guys living in So-Cal who have hundreds upon hundreds.

Got any goals for the coming year?

-Rob

I love this post. Look for it every year.

In 2007, I really just want to beat my PB and do well in some tournaments. That, and find a good SD boat to work on this season and make a bunch of cash. Oh, and catch something over 30 pounds on my new 10' ULUA. }(

How come I'm always "the go to guy" when it comes to peoples numbers of double digets??? }( I think you have 53 Rob. This year you have 5, last year you had 21, the year before that 12. :P I could go on...LOL

Goals this year...catch more double digits then last!!!

I've been fishing my but off for the double digit toads!
I had 4 last year and NONE this year, times running out but I still have hope and I'm hitting the water everyday to keep the faith.
Next year i want to BREAK MY PERSON BEST and catch a teener fish!
growing up in Michigan i never thought that possible and so Living in cali now i'm full on addicted to make it happen!
Swimbait fishing has changed my whole perspective on the sport and i want to put away my other gear and try it year round.

I was so far away from reaching this years goals thit it is embarrasing. I guess thats what happens when you dont fish!;(
My 07 goals will be more realistic. I want one BIG fish and I have to fish more. I would also like to introduce at leasts 3 new baits.
Anything beyond this will be gravy. I know if I just go a few times I will get a few big fish but that one BIG one will be a little tougher.

When I get to the end of '07 I want to look back and say to myself,
"This was a good year. I learned, I grew, and I caught some fish." My goal for next year is to do whatever it takes to have that feeling when the year ends.

Two of my goals is the same as last year but a little different than everybody else.

-A 10 lb.+ Brown on the fly would be great but I will take it any way I can.
-A 10 lb. Bass.
-Compete and hopefully win a distance fly casting competition.
-Have a good start to my guiding career in fly fishing.

Goals for 2007

Actually get out and fish. I got out 4 times this year and did not catch a single bass...

Other than just getting out and fishing I'd like to get 5 swimbait fish. At least one bass on my new Rago Baby Tool and also one on the BBZ-1. That's not too much to ask.

Erik

Yeah, I really was slacking this year. Fished a lot but only got my tournament goal done. Here's mine fo' 2007;

Learn the jig inside and out.
Completely update my equipment for tournies.
Place high in my club tournies as much as possible. This year I went 1-4 competed in and never came lower than 5th out of the 13 or 14 boats we had.
Work on my fish landing skills. I usually don't have a problem with this during my season but I lost 3 fish that would have put my partner and I 2 or 3 places up further in the rankings.
Best my PB brown on a fly. I'm at 7 pounds right now, But I'd really like to get a big bruiser this year on a streamer.
Fish more. I'll be able to drive myslef pretty soon, so I be able to get out on most weekemds and Friday afternoons.:)

Bass + Fisherman= BAASS ADDICTT!!!

1) Not fish so much! (sounds funny but I have my reasons)
2) Catch a Calico over 6 pounds
3) Catch more swimbait fish
4) Win a team tournament or big fish in a team tourney
5) Get my work tourneys up and rolling again next year!
6) Stay clean of cigarettes (3 weeks now...:-) )

1. I'd have to say first of all, get on the water more.
2. Catch a DD fish this year. I can sense it.
3. Win AOY of our bass club and no-boater of the year.
4. Win a draw tourney in our club.
5. Make more lures and load the boat with them, or float tube.

Show me the water, I will fish.

I don't really have any goals, I just want to continue to catch fish and find new ways to catch fish as the lakes become more pressured. I also want to fish at least one day with Bassindon, he keeps dodging me....lol.
