Jerry<P>I fish all over Northern California and the Sierra's. How far are you willing to travel? Bridgeport and the surrounding areas provide some of the best river, stream and lake fishing for all varieties of trout. There are a bunch of lakes, rivers, creeks and streams easily accessable to non-four wheel drive vehicles and numerous hike in only lakes and rivers. I try to get over there at least twice to three times per year as it holds some of the best fishing for my money around. The drive is a bear but worth it!! 120 through Yosemite is better than 108 but it is still about a 4 hour trek from the bay area. Once the snow starts to melt off the lower forks of rivers like the Stanislaus and Tuoleme(spelling???) in the western foothills usually are pretty productive. Some of the best action in the state is right now up around Shasta and Siskiyou counties in the Pit and McCloud rivers as well as Hat Creek. Write me off line and I can give you more info.
