Here's a http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10265078/]transcript/interview about their so-called comic  book  .

I'd love to gut-hook all the filth that had anything to do with peta :D

Here's a copy of the email I sent to PETA in response to this BS:

"Dear PETA,

My name is Jake Wilson and I'm a 16 year old kid from Southern California who loves to fish and actually makes money in the sportfishing industry. I recently saw your newest "comic book" aimed towards kids, Your Daddy Kills Animals. How dare you publish something like this? I can completely understand campaigning against cruelty towards animals that actually have a well developed enough brain to understand a pain sensation, I can even understand trying to change adult minds on fishing, but to paint a picture for kids that their parents are out to get them is just garbage. Not only this, but the entire foundation of the book is pure trash. Fish don't register pain in the same way humans, dogs, cats, and all your other examples do. They decide to eat something, get a hook somewhere in the vicinity of their mouth, and understand that something is wrong when the food they just ate starts towing them around. Fish are used to eating things that can potentially hurt their mouths every day. A largemouth bass for example eats live crawfish and bluegill on a daily basis. Crawfish are found on the bottom of whatever body of water may be in question, foring bass the rough up the outside of their mouths in the process of eating them. Not only this, but the crawfish are live, pinching all the way down and potentially "hurting" the bass. Eating bluegill is another potential danger for the fish. Bluegill, along with a few other fish that make up a largemouth bass' diet, have extremely sharp fins. Not only this, but bluegill have a body shape such that one could get stuck in a bass' mouth and potentially drown both of the fish. I have seen every single incident I have mentioned first hand, which is more than I can say for whoever published this rubbish.

I've also seen a couple of the PETA videos on farm animals raised for food. I've come to the point where I think PETA makes the videos themselves, just because there would be some kind of govenment organization would be involved if some of the things in the videos were true. Animal facilites and slaughter houses undergo inspections, isn't that good enough?

The last thing I have to say has to do with why you have these types of campaigns? If someone is living a lifestyle completely within the law, having nothing to do with you other than the fact that you have a completely messed up "holier-than-thou" mantality about animals, not hurting any kind of domesticated or wild animal other than what falls within the law or what may be used for food, what right do you think you have to tell people how to live. All you're doing is setting more limits on your lives and infringing on the rights of others. People like myself make money in the sportfishing industry and demand fish to be able to bring home what living we can. I totally support no fishing in restricted areas, different and better slot limits, and doing whatever else we can to help fish populations without cutting into my own pocket, but you're just going to far with this new "comic."

I know I won't change any minds on the subject considering the type of people that are involved with your organization, but I thought I'd vent a little bit and hopefully at least get you to think a little bit about what you're doing to society. Hope this helps and good fishing!

Sincerely,

Jake Wilson, 16 year old bass fisherman and deckhand, future fisherman's rights activist."

Not going to change anything, but what else can you do?

Jake

Ya i saw that on thanxgiving. Pissed me off i sent them a similar email but dont have a copy of it.Also joined the message boards to give them a little peace of my mind. Tm customs i know what u mean. Last summer i was fishing in florida and there was this guy protesting us out on a pier most likely a peta type guy. Didn't think much of it just ignored him untill i caught a Nice sized baitfish, cut it up, and threw it out for bait. This guy went crazy yelling at me and stuff so i told him to f off. Then he starts pushing me thats where i got pissed and shoved him over the rail he got lucky and grabbed the railing and was able to pull himself back up on deck and left. Sure would have loved to watch him swim a qaurter mile back to shore }( .

Very disturbing article, typical propaganda from that organization. Perhaps we should start wearing T-shirts.........PETA..."People Eating Tasty Animals" while we fish.
