any tubers have a brand or type of swim fins they like. i got the
caddis cheapies and don't like the feel of having to wear boots snd
they're too stiff. i heard scuba fins don't move enough water and
boogie board types are not suitable. i have a pontoon type of tube
that moves pretty easily. also any thoughts on the portable fish
finders that are tube mountable. peace, dom

I use Browning fins and like them. I understand that there are better fins, but don't know that I'd shell out over $50 for fins.

I have Creek Co. fins. I really like 'em. I think they're about the same as the Browning fins, just different brand. They sell for around $35.00 at Bass pro shops.-Phil

i disagree on the diving fin theory. i have Cressi Dive fins and they are pretty long and super stiff. you dont need boots which is much nicer. i got them for 25 bucks. they work fine and just like any fin they make u tired after a long day. what i suggest is buying them and using them in a pool or somehting and if u dont like them return them. thats what i did. they cant tell. i did this with three pairs one pair i even used at the lake.

Force Fins, Force Fins, Force Fins, Force Fins. Almost zero resistance on the recovery stroke, tons of power on the push. They are pricey, but they are well worth it. I got lucky and picked up a pair at 1/2 off for $50. They are the older style and are only adjustable at the heel. I've used many different fins over the years for many different applications, Force Fins are the best all around fin I've ever used. I was told it would take a trip for every year I'd used regular fins to get used to them. The salesmen was a little short though. They feel so easy, that it's like your not pushing all that hard, so you think you're going slow. Then you see your friends are left behind, then you begin to see just how efficent these fins are. Knowing how good they are, if I ever have to get new ones I'd pay $200+. Given a choice, I'd never use another fin.

They're what I use. Some diving fins work just as well but I've found Force Fins to be very comfortable as well as efficient.

Great question. Now, where to them buy at the best deal? I saw them today at Sport Chalet for $80...anything less, anywhere else? Also, don't recall this being answered but do you need the boots with these Force Fins or no. At about $40 for a pair of wader boots, if you don't need them with the Force Fins, then it'll be about the same as buying the regular fins with the boots. $80 might not be so bad afterall??

$80 is a good price for the old style, great price for the new. I use wetsuit booties w/ inserts on the fins made by Force Fin. The think the new style doesn't need the inserts. Heck maybe the old ones don't either, but mine came w/ the fins. Waders should be enough.

hey amish, do you know a force fin dealer here in socal. checked out
the f.f. website and they look efficient and light. but the retail
price for the new ones is 139.00. i think that they will be a good
investment though. do you use the ones designed specifically for the
tube or the scuba models. they got some crazy looking fins on the site. peace out,dom

Yep, we sell 'em, so this is a totally biased post - but we sell inexpensive ones too.

For round-tubers, it's probably one of the easiest fins to walk in. The upward curve prevents the dreaded "clown foot syndrome".

But, that upward curve also gives you a tremendous amount of thrust when you kick - it makes your efforts more efficient, which lets you fish longer with less exertion.

I've never used the new style designed for tubing. But with the adjustable instep you have a large variety of footwear from booties to waders w/ boots. I've seen both models at a few different places, namely Sports Chalet and a surf/dive shop in Dana Point. Where do guys live? They are well worth the money, but get fin tethers. As their site states, these fins sink. I liked what I saw at the site (thanks for that heads-up), those $400 fins looked pretty good. Mine are the original ones, I got lucky getting them for $60 with the inserts. I don't know what I would have bought if the manager hadn't offered me the deal ( being a regular customer helped). I'm just glad I did get them, I'll never use another fin.
