I just picked up a black/yellow dots Frogzilla. Any of you ever use these? What kind of success have you had?

I've had 9 hits and landed 1 bass on them. It's hard to find a rod that can cast them well and still get the massive hook to sink in. My swimbait rod doesn't cast them well and my flippin stick isn't strong enough. I've tried them on a friends frog rod and that's how I got the 1, but even then I lost 2. If they ever come out with a "fine wire" hook version I'll buy it, but until then I've hung it up.
Tight lines,
Wade

I have one with some extra weights stuffed in and use it to cast really far on the mats and look for fish. I keep it moving quick and I have found a couple good mats because I was chucking and winding the zilla and had a fish swirl on the frog, then picked up a regular ribbit and fished the area.

I always thought that Frogzilla was a pretty cool bait. I caught a few fish on it at Santa Margarita back in the day. You do miss a lot of bites, but I caught a few 2's and 3's on it too. It's better if the fish hit it in open water, the bites I got back in the mats I almost always missed. If I were to pick it up again now I'd go 65 or 80 braid and make sure the hook was wickedly sharp.

Isn't it possible to set up some sort of stinger on them?
