#552, "Gizzard Shad Lure"

Bass chase up to 10" gizzard shad in the small 15 acre pit I fish. Here is a lure I've been working on to toss out when they are chasing. What's everyone's favorite shad lure? I have a couple Castaic but they aren't very big at 5.5". This one is almost 7".

My favorite Shad lure would have to be your standard zoom super fluke on a swarming hornet jighead.

That one you made looks sick! Whats the action like? Ever consider selling anything like that? I'd love to get a blank of something identical to that. Looks like a good hitch profile as well. Nice work!

I carved it. I finally did the balancing this weekend on my lake. It sits with it's back out of the water and swims 2-4' when cranked. I'm starting to draw up a bluegill pattern also. My lake has stained water (3' visibility) so I think these will work the best when the bass are chasing shad, around docks, and at night.

Thanks for the compliments.

Nick
