Anyone good with electronics? I have the x65 and it never works. I took the unit off and hooked it up to my friends plugs and it worked fine. It turns on when hooked up with my boat, but will not find the bottom. I can switch it from the front or the helm, and neither place works. I think it might not be getting enough power possibly? Or maybe both transducers are jacked up? Basically, I turn them on, and it flashes 0 for the entire day. Water temp works, flasher at the healm works, but not the depth finder.

It has been like this for 2-3 years, I just never use it. Basically it is a 300$ thermometer.

help?

It sounds like transducers to me. Have you tried it on another boat with a known working transducer?

It could be a connection problem or just a faulty unit too. Contact Lowrance and they might be able to help you troubleshoot it.

"I took the unit off and hooked it up to my friends plugs and it worked fine." I brought it out to berryessa on my friends boat and it plugged into his wire and worked fine.

Check the connector on your cable that plugs into the unit. You might have a damaged pin from the transducer. I have an Eagle that had the same problem and the fix was as simple as bending the pin back in place with tweezers.
